Galaxy S24 smartphones have a feature that allows you to upload HDR photos to Instagram, in addition to capturing high-resolution photos through the app
The new Samsung Galaxy S24 devices will be able to upload photos in HDR and capture high-resolution images through the Instagram app. When the user uploads a photo in HDR, the platform will display it with this feature, without loss of quality.
Another new feature is that users will be able to capture photos through the Instagram and Snapchat app using the Galaxy S24’s native camera features, improving image quality.
The Galaxy S24 line is responsible for debuting support for HDR images on Instagram — the platform already has this feature for videos.
This information was released by Adam Mosseri himself, CEO of the social network, on his broadcast channel within Instagram. Even though Mosseri hasn’t said anything about it, it’s natural that this support will also come to iPhones — Meta won’t leave Apple out.
Instagram on Galaxy S24 with higher quality photos
Galaxy S24 users will be able to upload full HDR images to Instagram. Briefly explaining, HDR is a feature that records several photos, with different camera settings, and joins them into a single image, showing a more realistic photo — example below.
To view HDR photos on your phone, your smartphone needs to support HDR display.
Another (great) new feature is that capturing photos taken directly through Instagram and Snapchat will use almost all of the features of the native camera app — AI tools for editing will not be available.
You know when you take a photo directly through the stories feature and think “wow, what quality. The camera isn’t that bad”? Well, this has finally been resolved.
The user will be able to use the Nightography, Super HDR and video stabilization features directly through the Snapchat and Instagram photo capture tool. To use video stabilization you need to activate the tool within the Galaxy S24 camera app.
